Michigan native designs Wrigley Field’s 100th anniversary logo


Brandon Ort, who designed the winning logo marking Wrigley Field’s 100th anniversary next year, wants to make one thing clear — he may have grown up in Michigan, but he’s a Cubs fan.

Ort, whose design won out over about 1,200 others submitted to mark the 2014 anniversary of the stadium, traveled with his wife, daughter and other family members to unveil the design over the weekend and see the Cubs play the Atlanta Braves.

“I have family members who are Tigers fans, but I am a Cubs fan,” said Ort, 28, who grew up near Lansing, Mich., and now lives in New Bremen, Ohio. “When I was growing up, we would drive into Indiana to see family, and take the train to Chicago to see the Cubs.”
