Mayor will ‘sit down’ with Cubs about Wrigley

But reiterates he has ‘critical eye’ on tax dollars helping private interests

In an interview with the Tribune editorial board Wednesday, Mayor Rahm Emanuel was asked about the Cubs’ efforts to get financial help from the city to renovate Wrigley Field.

“I’ve had one meeting, a couple of months ago,” Emanuel said. “As I told (the Cubs), I’m going to represent the taxpayers of the city of Chicago and you have to represent your interests.
