An all-star lineup of top Chicago chefs — including Rick Bayless (whose Topolobampo was the James Beard Foundation’s 2017 Outstanding Restaurant) and Stephanie Izard (fresh from her Iron Chef win, televised on Sunday) — will be cooking at Wrigley Field this season.
The newly created Sheffield Counter, on Wrigley’s lower concourse near the right-field entrance (the space was formerly called Decade Diner, and was Sheffield Grill before that), will function as a pop-up restaurant, featuring five chefs in rotation.
Izard will lead off, beginning June 2. Matthias Merges (A10, Yusho, Billy Sunday) will be at Wrigley from late June to early July. Jeff Mauro (Pork & Mindy’s, host of ‘The Kitchen’ on the Food Network) takes over in late July, followed by Bayless in early August. Graham Elliot (chef/author/TV personality) wraps things up in mid- to late-August.
