The city’s Landmarks Commission last month approved a plan that paves the way for the Cubs to seek up to 45,000 square feet of advertising on Wrigley Field’s interior and exterior — roughly double the park’s current amount of ad space. The Cubs are looking for new ways to generate revenue at the park, but a spokesman said the team might not pursue all the ad space outlined in the plan. Some of the ads would still need city permits before installation.
