Cubs, rooftop owners meeting to seek possible deal

In a possible sign of progress in the Wrigley Field wars, owners of rooftop clubs surrounding the field have been meeting this afternoon with Chicago Cubs management.

5:45 p.m. update: The meeting is done, after running a good two and a half hours. I’m told that both sides agreed that there is pressure for a deal, agreed to do some more research on a few items, and agreed to communicate again, possibly in person later this week.

6:30 update: Cubs’ spokesman Dennis Culloton says the meeting was “a good information sharing session” and confirmed that both sides will meet again this week.
