The Cubs will install additional netting behind home plate at Wrigley Field in hopes of providing a safe environment for fans.
Cubs spokesman Julian Green said Wednesday the team will add netting in front of the field-level seats from the end of one dugout to the other, and within 70 feet of home plate.
On Wednesday, the Commissioner’s Office issued recommendations to all 30 teams aimed at enhancing the safety of fans while also preserving the interactive elements that are integral to the fan experience. The recommendations were a result of a review that began earlier this summer.
