The proposed $100 million ”Addison on Clark” development near Wrigley Field is a project onto itself without input from the Cubs.
Though the team has long-range plans concerning development for and immediately around Wrigley Field, it has not been involved with discussions for the proposal endorsed by Ald. Tom Tunney to displace some businesses along Clark Street for a development envisioned to include a hotel, residential units, underground parking and retail outlets.
Team chairman Tom Ricketts said Friday the Cubs have not been party to discussions about the proposal and had no comment.
Business owners who would be displaced by the project are speaking out against it after Tunney brought it to a community meeting and voiced his support.
